Visit from UiTM Puncak Perdana

31 March 2011 – About 32 students and 2 lecturers from UiTM Puncak Perdana has come to visit Siti Hasmah Digital Library in Cyberjaya Campus and the purpose of this visit is to give an exposure to the participants related on library management. Short briefing was conducted by Mr. Shaharom Nizam Mohamed to give the participants an idea about Siti Hasmah Digital Library in general. After that, a library tour was conducted to the main library and the visit end about 4.00 pm. We would like to say thank you to those who are involve and hopefully, the participants will get the valuable knowledge as well.

Visit from USIM

3 March 2011 – Siti Hasmah Digital Library proudly received a visit from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and the participants are about 47 students & 2 lecturers from Fakulti Pengajian Quran dan Sunnah. The purpose of this visit is to know the background of the Siti Hasmah Digital Library as well as to give the participants spotlight about library management. The participants arrive at the MMU campus around 2.15 pm and the briefing conducted has been divided into two slots – “Siti Hasmah Digital Library Introduction” and “Digital Library Pactice”. Both of the slots were presented by Mr Shaharom Nizam Mohamed and Mr. Norkamarizal Kamarudin. After that, a library tour was conducted to the main library and the visit end about 5.30 pm. Library Management would like to say thank you for those who are participate in this event and hopefully, the participants will get the knowledge about librarianship during this visit.

Visit From Uitm Machang

24 Feb 2011 – About 52 students and 2 lecturers from UiTM Machang Kelantan has come to visit Siti Hasmah Digital Library in Cyberjaya Campus. The purpose of this visit is to know the current practice especially in information technology (IT) approach in library environment in order to deliver the effective services to the users. Short briefing was conducted by Mr. Norkamarizal Kamarudin on “Digital Library Pactice” that has been implemented in Siti Hasmah Digital Library. After that, a library tour was conducted to the main library and the visit end about 11.00 am. Library Management would like to say thank you for those who are participate in this event and hopefully, the participants will get the valuable knowledge during this visit.

Visit from Institut Perguruan Ilmu Khas Kuala Lumpur

15 Dec 2010 – Siti Hasmah Digital Library has received visit from Institut Perguruan Ilmu Khas Kuala Lumpur. The purpose of this visit is to do benchmarking about on how library is managed according to MMU practices. The visit consists of 30 participants and a short briefing about library was conducted by Mr Shaharom Nizam Mohamed and Mr Kamal Sujak. After that, library tour is arranged at the library and library management hope that the information that has been shared will give useful knowledge to the participants.

Visit from UKM

14 Dec 2010 – Siti Hasmah Digital Library has received visit from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The purpose of this visit is to do benchmarking about customer service practices at MMU Library. The visit consists of 38 participants and library visit has been scheduled after the briefing. During visit at the main library, they were divided into several groups according to their task and responsibility. Library management would like to say thanks for those who participate to ensure this visit is a success and as a lot of knowledge is shared during the visit, we hope that the participants will get something useful in return.

 

Visit from Universiti Malaysia Pahang

28 Oct 2010 – Siti Hasmah Digital Library has received visit from Universiti Malaysia Pahang students. The purpose of this visit is to know services and facilities provided by MMU library. The short briefing was conducted and we hope all the participants will get valuable knowledge during this visit.

Visit from Perdana Leadership Foundation

19 Oct 2010 – Siti Hasmah Digital Library has received a visit from Perdana Leadership Foundation. The visit was participated by 12 participants and start at 10.00 am. Short briefing was conducted to expose the participants about the current practice at Siti Hasmah Digital Library. Brief information about library was introduced to the participants by Mr Shaharom Nizam, Ms Noor Azimah and about IT@SHDL was done by Mr Norkamarizal. We hope all the participants will get valuable knowledge during this visit and it can be applied at their institutions as well.

Visit from Pusat Kegiatan Guru Arau, Perlis

14 July 2010 (Cyberjaya) – Siti Hasmah Digital Library proudly received a visit from Pusat Kegiatan Guru Arau, Perlis. This visit consists of 40 head masters/mistresses/principals and the objective of this visit is to gain the experience about library management and practice at Siti Hasmah Digital Library. The presentation was divided into three sections: – Library briefing by Acting Director of Library Mr Kamal Sujak, IT @ Siti Hasmah Digital Library by Mr Norkamarizal Kamarudin and SHDL @ MMU Digital Library by Mr Shaharom Nizam Mohamed. After that, short library tour is conducted at the library lead by Ms Noor Azimah Nawawi. Library management would like to say thank you for those who participate to ensure this visit is a success and as a lot of knowledge is shared during this presentation, we hope that the participants will get something useful in return.

Visit from participants of “Program Kerjasama Teknikal Malaysia (MTCP)”

9 July 2010 (Cyberjaya) – Siti Hasmah Digital Library has received a visit from participants of Program Kerjasama Teknikal Malaysia (MTCP): International Course on Library Management for Librarians. The participants in this program are come from various countries such as Laos, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Thailand, Vietnam, Seycheles, Oman, Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal, Uzbekistan and Nigeria. The main focus for this visit is to see and experience on how Siti Hasmah Digital Library is managed to support university program.  Brief information about library was introduced to the participants by Mr Shaharom Nizam Mohamed and new initiative taken by Siti Hasmah Digital Library about Institutional Repository also been shared among participants. After that, short tour is conducted around the library. Library management hope that all the participants will get new information and  knowledge that useful during this visit. All the Best!

Visit from University Colombo, Sri Lanka

20 April 2010 (Cyberjaya) – Siti Hasmah Digital Library has received visit from University Colombo, Sri Lanka. This visit is organized by Open University Malaysia (OUM), in conjunction with their program “Best Practices in Library Architecture”. The aim of this visit is to give participants a quick view on how academic library in Malaysia is managed as well as the digital content that available in Siti Hasmah Digital Library. We hope all the participants will get valuable knowledge during this visit and it can be applied at their institutions.
